Anti-Vehicle Guide
This guide says which explosive to use against which vehicle, with the number of hits it takes. The counts are worked out from the damage rules, not timed in play. Every one assumes a vehicle at full health with no repair. The full table is in Vehicle Comparison. The rules behind it are in Vehicle damage.
The three rules that matter
- Rifles do almost nothing. Tanks take no rifle damage at all, and the other vehicles keep 2.5% to 10% of it. A Humvee needs 715 rifle hits. Use explosives. See the Vehicle Guide.
- Get the blast on the vehicle. Most vehicles take a large bonus from a rocket or grenade that bursts within its inner radius, and no bonus outside it. A Humvee dies to 2 MAAWS rockets inside 4 m, but needs about 8 when the blast is halfway out between the inner and outer radius (derived). A rocket that hits the vehicle bursts well inside the inner radius.
- Count blasts, not contacts. One blast counts once per part of the vehicle. A second contact on the same part does not add a second hit.
Which weapon for which job
The counts are blasts inside the inner radius. The 9K333 Verba appears only against helicopters, because it can lock on to air vehicles only. For every explosive and vehicle, use the table.
| Target | Fewest hits | Hits | The rest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bobcat (200 HP) | Any rocket, grenade, charge or mine | 1 | The Claymore takes 2 |
| Kodiak (400 HP) | RPG-7, MAAWS, B-13 rocket, M67 frag, IED, AT mine, Stingray drone | 1 | C4 takes 2 |

Cars and trucks
- The MAAWS is the all-round launcher. One rocket destroys a Bobcat, a Kodiak or a Wolf-110. Two destroy a Dune Buggy, a Humvee or a Ural. It costs 2,400 as stored, and the chamber holds one rocket.
- The RPG-7 is cheaper and much weaker against heavy trucks. It costs 1,800 as stored. It takes 6 rockets on a Humvee and 7 on a Humvee [Minigun], where the MAAWS takes 2. Against a Bobcat or a Kodiak it is as good as the MAAWS.
- Use charges for a sure kill. One IED or one AT mine destroys a Bobcat, Kodiak, Dune Buggy, Humvee or Wolf-110, and two IEDs destroy a Ural. An AT mine only goes off when a vehicle drives over it above 0.1 km/h, and it also goes off under your own team’s vehicles.
- C4 is a poor choice against trucks. It takes 3 on a Humvee and 7 on a Ural, and it needs the Remote Detonator.
- Skip the Claymore and the 40 mm grenade. A Humvee takes 14 Claymores or 8 grenades from the MGL-40.
Armored vehicles and tanks
- The AT mine is the best tool against tanks. It takes 2 mines on the T-72B3, the L2A6 and the Flakpanzer Gepard, and 1 on the SPH-2. It costs 650 cash. The T-72B3’s rule multiplies the mine’s damage by 2.45. Place it on the route the tank takes.
- The MAAWS is the best launcher. It takes 3 rockets on the T-72B3, the L2A6, the Flakpanzer Gepard and the SPH-2. The RPG-7 takes 5 to 6.
- The IED is the best placed charge. It takes 3 on every tank. C4 takes 4 to 5.
- The M67 frag grenade works in a pinch. It takes 6 to 8, and you must be within 5 m of the tank to get the inner-radius damage.
- The Claymore does almost nothing. A tank takes 92 to 141 of them, because the tank’s rules keep only about 5% of the damage.
- There is no weak armor facing. The damage rules look at the type of damage and the part hit, not at the angle or thickness. The L2A6 does have a tougher hull zone that passes 40% of its damage to the main health while it stands. See Vehicle damage.
Helicopters
- The Little Bird family dies in one blast to most things. One RPG-7, MAAWS, 9K333 Verba, M67 frag grenade or Stingray drone destroys an MH-6, AH-6M or AH-6R. A B-13 rocket takes 5 on the body but only 2 through the tail rotor.
- The 9K333 Verba is the hand-held anti-air launcher. It fires only while locked on (2.0 s to lock, 0.25 s delay), and it can lock on to helicopters and the airplane only, so it cannot be used against ground vehicles or emplacements. The airplane is unfinished and takes 0 damage from hits, so in practice the Verba is a helicopter weapon. One rocket destroys a Little Bird, two destroy a Z20 Lakota or a Havoc. It costs 800 as stored.
- The Z20 Lakota takes 2 or 3 rockets, and the Havoc takes 2 or 3. The Havoc has 800 HP and the Z20 Lakota 600 HP.
- The Stingray emplacement is the anti-air answer. It locks on to air vehicles only. Its drone destroys a Little Bird or a Z20 Lakota in 1 hit and a Havoc in 2. Each drone costs 900 Mechanical Supplies and 5,000 cash. Flares do not break a lock. For 3.5 s they pull guided missiles already in flight toward a flare point beside the helicopter, but they do not pull the Stingray’s drone, which is flown by the player and is not a guided missile. See Stingray and Countermeasures and flares.
- The AT mine is not an answer to helicopters. It is set off by a moving ground vehicle driving over it.
- The B-13 rocket is a poor weapon against helicopters. It takes 11 hits on a Havoc or a Z20 Lakota.
Emplacements
Emplacements use the same rules as vehicles, with much more health. Blasts inside the inner radius:
| Emplacement | Health (HP) | MAAWS | RPG-7 | IED | C4 | M67 frag |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Talon 9K SAM | 3,000 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 1 | 4 |
| Vanguard CIWS | 5,000 | 7 | 7 | 1 | 3 | 7 |
| L81 Mortar | 3,000 | 4 | 4 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| Stingray | 3,000 | 4 | 4 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| Loudspeaker | 1,000 | 3 | 5 | 2 | 4 | 4 |
| MG Nest | 1,800 | 18 | 17 | 6 | 8 | 18 |
- C4 and the IED are the best emplacement killers. One C4 charge destroys a Talon 9K SAM, and one IED destroys a Vanguard CIWS. The MG Nest is the hardest on the list because the game gives it no special weakness rules.
- Do not use the AT mine on an emplacement. It needs a moving vehicle to set it off.
- Walls, gates and other buildings use a separate table, see Building a Base.
Limits of these numbers
- The counts are for a blast inside the inner radius. A rocket or grenade that bursts farther out does less, and beyond the outer radius it does nothing.
- They count one hit on the main body. A real blast can touch several parts of a vehicle, and the game applies the first part it finds to the whole blast. The counts do not model that.
- Repair is not counted. Repairing between blasts raises the counts. See Repair and vehicle parts.
- The damage rules for vehicles name the type of explosive, not the weapon that fired it.
- None of this was timed in play. Treat each count as an estimate.
