Music Tapes are small items that play a song on a vehicle’s stereo. The shop text calls each one a “Playable music tape in vehicles”. There are ten, and all of them cost 100 cash.

Overview

Each tape is a separate item named after its song, in the form “Song - Artist”. A tape is bought from the item shop like any other item, with a price of 100 cash and an unlock level of 0. The shop sells one tape per purchase.

It is not known how a player loads a tape into a vehicle or whether every vehicle has a stereo. The tape is listed as an item for vehicle use only. Each tape has a track assigned to a vehicle hi-fi, which is what plays. The sound files themselves are audio and are not described here.

The tapes

11 Blue (Da Ba Dee) - Eiffel 65 Not in either role tree

Nine of the ten tapes appear as unlocks in the Driver or Pilot role trees. Tape 11 does not appear in either list. The role tables show the tape numbers as “Music tape” plus the number, since the unlock lists carry no song names.

Cost and unlocking

  • Item shop: 100 cash per tape, unlock level 0.
  • Role trees: the Driver tree has five tapes and the Pilot tree has four, at role levels 5 to 33. The role-level cash costs (750 to 25,000) are the cost of the unlock, not of the item.

Season 2 changes

  • Tape 11, “Blue (Da Ba Dee) - Eiffel 65”, is new in Season 2, priced at 100 cash. There is no tape 10, so the set runs 01 to 09, then 11.
